From capturing the perfect voice for a company’s blog, to crafting just the right copy for a webpage, Angela von Weber-Hahnsberg is passionate about making words work for Marketing Zen’s clients.
Leveraging her years of experience writing articles and blogs for both print and online publications as well as digital marketing content for various industries, Angela leads the MZ content marketing team to produce quality SEO- and social-friendly content that converts.
With a BA in Medieval Languages and Literatures from the University of Dallas, Angela started her career as an English and Latin teacher at a private school. Those late nights grading student essays paid off in the form of some major editing chops and a fierce devotion to correct grammar. But writing has always been Angela’s first love, so she soon shifted gears and began to pursue her dream, quickly becoming a regular contributor to several different print magazines and websites.
When it comes to online marketing, what’s your personal philosophy?
A company’s online content defines their brand. Every detail of your content, from the voice used to the topics written about, influences the way your audience perceives your brand – and their perception of your company is what determines whether they do business with you or not. A solid content marketing strategy is key to driving conversions online.
What is your most important advice to a company’s digital marketing success?
Let your personality shine through in your content. A business with bland, cookie-cutter blog posts doesn’t inspire someone to want to buy – but a business with a unique voice, telling stories and sharing information in an engaging way, will grab your audience and make them want to be a part of the fun and excitement.

What is your biggest online marketing success story?
A client of ours in the public safety arena needed a boost in website traffic, so I came up with the idea of writing a series of moving tribute pieces to honor those who serve and protect us – 911 dispatchers, police, firefighters, veterans, etc. – reasoning that this would not only show our client’s appreciation for their audience, but also become something that public safety officials and their friends and families would share over and over again. The very first post I wrote in the campaign went viral, and quadrupled the amount of traffic to the client’s site – and remains one of their most popular blog posts to this day. Boo-yah!
What’s your favorite movie?
I have a few, each for different reasons. The Princess Bride, most of which I can quote verbatim, Into the Woods, which I was sorely tempted to sing along with in the theater, and any Tolkien movie – although the books are, of course, far superior.
Angela lives on a small hobby farm outside of Dallas with her husband, her three children, and her herd of miniature dairy goats. That Alpine yodeling you hear coming from the milking barn?
